Dianne Mae (Losey) Robinson

Dianne Mae (Losey) Robinson of Prescott, Arizona, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Society Prescott Hospice on Aug. 1, 2018. She had lived a happy and adventurous life living in and traveling to many countries and states with her husband and daughter before retiring to Hidden Valley Ranch in Prescott, Arizona, in 2005.

Dianne was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Newton, New Jersey, to Ethel and Eston Losey. She grew up on a dairy farm with her parents and younger brother, James Losey, and was a straight-A student during her school years. She married James Sidney Robinson (USN) of Gas City, Indiana, on Oct. 16, 1965. Two months after they married, they moved to Morocco, North Africa, where James was stationed on a Naval base. A year later, their only child, Deborah Anne Robinson was born, and they spent two additional years of duty there before Dianne and Deborah returned to New Jersey and James went to serve in Vietnam. After James’ return from Vietnam, Dianne, Deborah and James spent the next 20 years on various tours with the U.S. Navy living in Washington D.C.; Pretoria, South Africa; Hermiston, Oregon; Oxnard, California; Atsugi, Japan; and Dale City, Virginia. During the 27 years that James served in the U.S. Navy, Dianne was a Civil Service employee working as an administrative assistant. In 1985, James joined the State Department and Dianne and James moved overseas while their daughter remained in North Carolina going to college. During James’ years working for the State Department, Dianne continued to work as an administrative assistant with the Civil Service for a few years before joining the State Department herself as an Administrative Manager. During their 20 years with the State Department, Diane and her husband lived in several different countries in Africa, Asia and South America before finally building a home in the Hidden Valley Ranch area of Prescott, Arizona, and retiring.

Retirement allowed Dianne to continue to do many of the things she loved. She enjoyed reading, going to the movies, eating out, decorating her home, animals, shopping, hiking and being a tourist. She also loved visiting with her daughter, Deborah, and two granddaughters, Sarah and Emily, who live in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was a loving, devoted and supportive wife. Dianne was a steadfast friend to many, both new and old, and rarely missed sending a card for every holiday or celebration. Additionally, while retirement allowed James to be actively involved with the Masonic Lodge, Dianne also joined and took part in the Social Order of the Beauceant. During her eight years with the SOOB, Assembly Number 213, Diane served in a number of roles including president of her chapter.

Dianne is survived by her husband, James Robinson; her daughter, Deborah Sellers; her two grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Sellers; and her brother, James Losey.

The family will receive friends and guests to view Dianne from 10-11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Heritage Memory Mortuary at 131 Grove Ave., in Prescott. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at the AZTLAN Lodge No. 1 Masonic Cemetery at 410 W. Carondolet Road in Prescott.
