Letter: If you're pro-Obama, you must be anti-God

The result of the recent presidential election is evidence that our country has embraced an anti-God agenda. Sanctity of life, sanctity of marriage and the moral that sexual relations be confined to marriage are going the way of black-and-white TV.

In pursuit of a rainbow of personal freedoms that violate God's ordinances, the winning party is America's answer for validation and enablement in the quest of "whatever" lifestyles ... whatever feels good, whatever benefits me, whatever I want. Demolishing the bedrock of biblical principles on which many citizens' lives rest, our hostile-to-God society has created a warm and welcoming climate for the inclusion of a wide array of delusions.

This culture's penchant for modern ideas, man-centered trends, and humanistic philosophies is not new and hearkens back to the kingdom of Nimrod's defiance of God's will in building the tower of Babel, (Genesis 10-11), and the initial fall of man through Adam's lust and pride-derived disobedience (Genesis 3). So, in reality, this country is not going "Forward," as the campaign slogan touted, but rather backward in history, following ancient indiscretions against God and inviting the same impending judgment.

Not sparing the people of Judah for their betrayal, God said, "When a country sins against Me by committing unfaithfulness ... I stretch out My hand against it," (Ezekiel 14:13). God has always fiercely opposed and judged His creation's rebellion against Himself and His law. All cities and nations of individuals who have forsaken the Creator have ultimately suffered severe and eternal consequences.

One comes to the realization that a holy God cannot tolerate sin after reading the accounts of God's wrath on the disobedient and idolatrous, as recorded in the Bible. In conclusion, "The Lord is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you" (2 Chronicles 15:2).

I cannot believe how many pro-obummer supporters there are...Holly you were right on...Those who wrote such disgusting comments deserve what they get for the next four years! "I guess these people forgot this country was based on "Christian values." It makes me sad.....Keep on spreading the word! God Bless you and all non-believers as well....

I'm not a holy roller by any means, but our society today is truly without character or morals. What do you see on television? Violence and sex. Comedy? It's rarely funny. We live in a society that is the closest thing to hedonism I've seen. Me, me, me. Whatever I want is more important than anything or anyone.

I do have an issue with self described Catholics supporting abortion, etc. If the church does not espouse your views, go to another church!!! There are many who espouse your beliefs. You will never change the Catholic church. Those that voted for more late term abortions, and schools that will take teens to doctors for IUD implants without parental consent should not call themselves Catholics. They insult the church.

Nobody know what God looks like. But, for some they see God when they look in the mirror. Sad. They expect to die and not know if there was anything beyond. That's their right. Nobody today knows what happens after death, or if anything happens, but those with faith believe that there is some form of existence after death. A soul, or our "energy" continues after death for those with faith in a higher power. Energy has to go somewhere and many of us believe it will go to like energy. Not a man with white hair ~ how boring. But with our creator whoever or whatever that may be. Or, if we have earned it, to a level of energy that may be very, very distasteful to say the least.

Higher power, creator, God? Guess we won't know until its too late to change our minds. For some, it will be too late, imo.

President Obama, is not anti-God. God, placed the president in office and we need to respect him and not demonize him. This country had moral issues before President Obama, was in charge remember Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter was an openly gay and involved in President Bush's re-election committee. President Obama respects the constitution and governs on the grounds of it. The congress and senate when in the hands of republicans id nothing to change abortion and create laws against gay rights, they are used as trump cards to get re-elected and demonize the democrats and those who vote on those two issues are shallow and ignorant. Shallow in thinking those two issues are what is wrong with this country and that those are the most important issues. Ignorant in thinking republican are last gay and against abortion. Did not hear any of Bush supporters comming down on him when he took money from the log cabing rebuplicans( conservative gayrights group) or having cheney on his re-election team. So now because President Obama, is a democrat and repsects the law he is immoral and our country is going to hell? Please! Oh and save that liberals wanted to go over the fiscal cliff nonsense for someone else because the republicans are the ones that continue to say "hell no". They must have forgot you have to give to get and compromise is what congress is all about. Making millionaires and billionaires pay there fair share is not alot to ask. Romans 13:1-3 13 "Every person should place themselves under the authority of the government. There isnít any authority unless it comes from God, and the authorities that are there have been put in place by God. 2 So anyone who opposes the authority is standing against what God has established. People who take this kind of stand will get punished. 3 The authorities donít frighten people who are doing the right thing. Rather, they frighten people who are doing wrong. Would you rather not be afraid of authority? Do whatís right, and you will receive its approval."

Holly had written such drivel before. If you want to preach Holly, get a pulpit. Better yet, claim you have been "chosen" and then ask every one for 10% of their earning. Might as well be another parasite who claims to know what others can not know. Buffalo bagels I say.

Sounds like liberal views to me. Do what ever feels good, no law, no rules. Liberalism is being taught in our schools through out our country right under our nose and we sit back let it happen. I know from presonal experience. Obama is not a christian , I don't care what the poles show. Did you ever see him attend church? Why does he allow muslim states to get away with murder. BENGHAZI for one

Holly, do you realize that your Bible MIGHT not be infallible?
Read some of the Nag Hammadi Gnostic Christian scriptures.
Read about the history of religion & philosophy.
Take a break from your beliefs that are irrationally certain.

And this is why we don't vote people like Holly into office.

Yours must be a puny god to be so concerned about human elections. My god is busy creating new universes in the multiverse and has no time to meddle with primates.

Holly presents her thoughts but ultimately she can DO little to change society. Loudly condemning her words or insulting others of faith does NOTHING to ease matters. In my experience Evangelicals welcome such public scouring. For a logical and reasonable group Atheists are often quite foolish. Oddly I feel like pasta tonight.

Ah humanity.

That's the great thing about America you are allowed to be full of god. But did you know that if your invisible friends name was anything but god, you would be considered insane. Try inviting your invisible friend Tom over for dinner.

just word in support of the courier....i'm glad they allow this kind of ranting nonsense. if they start actually "editing" these comments we'll lose the opportunity to make our own comments here and feel the paper is neutral. personally , i feel this woman is WAY out in left field and should perhaps seek help but let's keep this going in the American way...freedom of speech is awfully important. rant on !

It's hard to be "anti" something that does not exist. But for the sake of argument, Obama goes to a Christian church.

Article comment by: Stick To Your Beliefs Holly

I find these ignorant comments offensive and disgusting, rejecting God and our country's principles. Not shocked, but disgusted. This country is pounded by the racists and gay remarks every day but when you mention God, not religion, it's a different story. Seems a bit one-sided again. Sad to think our country is now based on anti-God beliefs and it surely shows. God is not a religion so get educated and pray he remembers you in the end.

If I had a nickel for every time in the last 50 years that some narrow minded zealot had predicted the end of the universe because of whomever had won the election, I would be a rich woman. I am a 61 year old, retired special education teacher who voted for Obama and am proud to say so! I have a Master's Degree and am well informed on the issues(both FOX news and the other guys) and I trust the President!! I am NOT anti-GOD but I am anti-elitist, anti-hypocrite and anti"get re-elected at all costs" I AM happy to see that Arizona has NOT been taken over by the right wing conservatives...there is still hope!!!

Haha I am so amused with this letter's title. I am an Obama supporter, I voted for him AND I'm an Atheist. So I guess you're right. I am an Obama supporter and I'm Anti-God. Good call. No sarcasm either, I really am.
