Watching these large helicopters working is fascinating. It quickly puts the magnitude of the fire and the fire crew's efforts into perspective.

I parked my car at the Wal-Mart near intersection of Prescott Lakes Parkway and 69. I walked down the Parkway to the place where a wide vista opens up. There I took a series of shots and joined them together in this panorama.

They said that it started at the roadside. My guess is someone flicked a lit cigarette out the window. I would not want to be in the shoes of the moron who started this one. Hope everyone is OK.

Beautifully executed. Really show what a fire is all about, and that we must respect these. Page 20 of 23 (referance)

I especially like the photo of the golf course watering their most precious grass in front of the dry, burning landscape.

It was only a matter of time, with the low humidity and high, dry winds. We are lucky to only have this fire to contend with. Everyone needs to be aware of these conditions, and be cautious with smoking items being discarded out the window. I have seen cigarette butts casually tossed out of the car in front of me while driving. It's sad to see anyone loosing their homes or animals loosing their habitat in which they live. Everyone has a lose to carelessness.
