The Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit in Prescott Valley is offering a small-group six-week study series based upon Gary Chapman's book "The Five Love Languages - The Secret to Love that Lasts" on how to heal or strengthen a marriage. Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents who have lost a child at any age or however long ago, meets the second Tuesday of each month at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St. Pastor Carol Mumford leads the group, and any community member who has lost a child may attend. This is just one of the support groups that meets each month at PUMC. Other groups offer support for those with health issues such as breathing problems, cancer, depression and fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue. Judian Society has spiritual, religious and self-help materials available at St. Jude's Possible Shop in Prescott. All proceeds benefit women and children of the area in crisis. The Lutheran Hour has been around since the Great Depression in the 1930s. What you will get is solid Lutheran teaching, interesting anecdotes, a good speaker and, sometimes, good traditional music. It can be heard on radio station KYCA 1490 AM, starting at 7:05 a.m. every Sunday and is sponsored by Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Prescott.
