This Week at the Y

Visit for complete information regarding the YMCA's programs and activities.

The Y offers first aid and CPR classes every month, alternating between the two classes. The next class is First Aid on Wednesday, May 30, at 6 p.m. There is a small fee for the certification.

The Y's lobby is a collection site for the Yavapai County Diaper Drive. Please drop off diapers and wipes to donate through May 16.

Healthy Kids Day will be Saturday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring the whole family to the Y for a fun-filled day of activity and education. Free admission.

Summer registration begins Saturday, April 28. This is your first chance to sign up for camps, swim lessons and more.

The next hike in the Y's hiking series will be Granite Mountain on Sunday, April 29. Contact the Y to learn more and register.

Mark your calendars for the 2012 Whiskey Row Marathon. The race will be Saturday, May 5. Volunteer sign-ups are ongoing.

In conjunction with the Whiskey Row Marathon, the Y is raffling

a 1963 Chevy Nova Super Sport. Contact the Y to purchase your tickets. It only takes one to win.

Sunday morning boot camp kicks off at 9:05 a.m. There is also a fun, low-impact class, Smart & Fit, 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Join the Y, the City of Prescott Parks & Rec division and the Yavapai County Community Health Services department for TrekAbout, a local hiking club. Hikes are every Tuesday and Thursday morning beginning at 8 a.m. A nominal fee applies.

Competitively priced monthly dance classes are available for kids, teens and adults. Dance styles include jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet and combo classes. The Y's first annual Spring Dance Recital will be 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Elks Opera House and Theatre in Downtown Prescott. Tickets will be available for public purchase beginning May 1.

Meet in the Y gymnasium on Mondays from 5 to 7 p.m. for adult indoor soccer. Free for Y members; nominal fee for community members.

Child Watch is available 8:15 a.m. to noon Mondays-Fridays and 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays for all Y members, providing on-site childcare while you exercise for a small fee.

Registration for after-school care and preschool is ongoing. An annual registration payment and current immunization records will get your child started.
