Letter: Obama's scandals add to his shame

EDITOR:

For their entertainment and diversion values, I have always been a fan of Ted Bell, Vince Flynn, David Baldacci, James Partterson and I now find it appropriate to add frequent Courier contributor Bob Lynne to my spinners of fiction list, but unfortunately he is not as entertaining (his offering of May 18).

It was only a matter of time and signals from Representative Pelosi and Sen. Reed that George Bush, admittedly a below-average president, would be blamed for the four major and growing scandals. Now we are beginning to see elements of the major media and the loyal acolytes of the progressive party attempting to divert attention to someone who has not been in office for five years.

Now for someone who has been universally acclaimed by his followers as the smartest guy in the universe, Mr. Obama claims no prior knowledge of IRS Gate, Benghazi Gate, Fast and Furious Gate and AP Gate. Then we have a parade of his "leaders," former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, acting IRS head Steve Miller, Attorney General Eric Holder and party spokesperson Jay Carney doing the best portrayal of Sgt. Schultz from Hogan's Heroes: "I know nothing!"

If Mr. Obama were a Republican, the national media and leaders of the progressive party would be screaming for impeachment.

Unfortunately, in this rampaging world of political correctness, Mr. Obama is undoubtedly safe. Let us also not forget that the president found time to personally call a pro ballplayer to congratulate him for proclaiming he was gay to the world, but there is no evidence of real sensitivity for those who died in Benghazi. He also is sparing in his praise of our military and, during this eventful evening last September, there is an unexplained five-hour period where he is missing and the families are still without answers.

What a shameful record, and I haven't even touched on his disastrous domestic record, but then again we are experiencing it every day.

Hey Bernie, did you sell me a house in Naperville in 1979? Thanks, it was a good buy.
The real shame is in the way the Republicans have conducted themselves since Obama's election. They have done anything to obstruct Obama's efforts to right the economy. Even now they are trying to cut spending when we need to stimulate the economy. The shame is on them, the obvustation and deception is everywhere and you hangers on don't even see it.
I'll never be as entertaining as Baldacci and the like, but like the company. The difference is they write fiction and I write non-fiction.

Article comment by: @ Attentive Listener Impeachment is coming on fast...Obama knows this.

Obama is going to be impeached.

There is no doubt of this eventuality. Your president has broken the law and abused the misplaced trust of the American people too many times.

Can't happen soon enough.

Dear Elitist:
Do you think that we should get rid of Holder?
What about the IRS? Do you think that they're trustworthy?

If any of you believe that President Obama has violated the law, please begin impeachment proceedings against him. Otherwise, quit wasting our time. Thus far, these scandals are sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Article comment by: @ william gauslow & company 3,600,000 feds need leadership...not Obama graft.

Well, Mr. Gauslow, while blowing smoke for Obama and wondering if anyone else could do the job your product of affirmative action, and game playing Chicago president has made a mess of you asked if anyone would be capable to step up...yes, in fact I do think we could find someone better.

Obama is nothing more than a passing politician who feels himself above the law and desires of the American people. Nothing more.

When (if?) Obama leaves office, and the true depth of this scandals, corruption, crimes, and self-serving Machiavellian intrigues become known it will be too much for us all to absorb.

And, to paraphrase the 'smartest woman in the world' Hillary Clinton, it will make a difference then...and now.

@ @ what can you expect?: You Said: "...You can expect less hate in the name of God. In sum, you can expect a world that lives more in accord with Christ's ideals...."

A nation running on christian principles, a light to the whole world, like the United States, is hardly a bastion of hate and intolerance. Just because people who believe in God and the bible say, oh, let's pick one...That Homosexuality is wrong. Are not hate driven. We just believe that a rise in homosexuality, and the deviancy that such 'tolerance' will infect society as a result, and will cause harm to us all.

We know that killing the unborn is not a good thing, and a bunch of old men telling young women to kill their kids on one hand, while having the government import foreign children for adoption, is foolishness.

We are sure that being kind and charitable to strangers and travelers is wise, but having the country invaded by global hoboes looking for free stuff, taken from our neighbors, is unwise.

The bible says we should love our neighbors and turn the other cheek. It does not say lie down and become a victim to every passing moron with ideas of others going into servitude, slavery, and victimization.

I think a little less high moral horse on your part, with a little less sanctimony might help.

But, to be fair, let me aks you a question. How many homosexual, immigrants, needing money and medical care have you taken into your 'tolerant' home to provide support at your cost?

I am guessing the number is only approaching zero...wouldn't that be correct?

"What can you expect?" you ask, "when the president proclaims that America is no longer just a Christian nation?" You can expect more tolerance, perchance respect, for all people, however alike or different from yourself. You can expect less hate in the name of God. In sum, you can expect a world that lives more in accord with Christ's ideals.

Humorous but profound points that you make. Rumor has it that President Obama has connections in South Dakota and may "influence" some individuals into carving his face on Mt. Rushmore to have his legacy live on for future generations to look up to forever.

@Memory Lib Lost: You forgot the numerous times it was reported who blew the whistle on ACORN. ACORN is the organization that blew the whistle when they found out their low level employees were cheating the system to make quota. Memory is a wonderful thing.

Nah, there is no racism targeted at this president. Nothing to see here. Nothing from Republicans. Nothing from elected officials. Mindless liberals playing the 'race card' is all this is ever about.

Oh, wait. Not really.

I figured it would just be a matter of time before someone such as "Honky Brujo" would play the race card. So for the benefit of those who can't see beyond the color of someone's skin, can you spell I-N-C-O-M-P-E-T-EN-C-E, A-R-R-0-G-A-N-C-E, C-O-R-R-U-P-T?

@Hooty. You make my point when you say democrats have nothing to do with the stock market. But you would be the first to blame them if it were going south. Just look back about 4 years ago at all the blame being laid at this president's feet because of unemployment, stock market performance, house prices. Remember jobs, jobs, jobs? Now when everything is getting better -----------crickets!
The truth is these "scandals" have been trumped up by right week cmmentators( notice I did not use the word news) to divert attention away from the recent financial successes. That's why Rush, Beck , Jones and Hannity no longer talk about financial issues, It doesn't fit in their strategy to discredit and obstruct.
And you guys eat it all up.

The Democrats had nothing to do with the stock market. The only reason it's going up is Bernanke's Fed: they are infusing 85 (printed) billion/month into the bond market, making bonds worthless and shifting bonds into stocks. I'm guilty, and so are millions more. But he can only do that for so long. When bond yields start back up the stocks will dump. And Bernanke does this with no presidential approval and no disclosure to the public until 3 weeks after they do it. Secret stuff the Qualitative Easing is!

I happen to be "marginally acquainted" with Bob and a couple of the other "frequent contributors" on his side of the spectrum (left).
I scan the author's name before reading "the letter".
And, I may not know the subject before reading, but I know the "angle".

I disagree with their views on most issues BIIGTIME.
But, I also know they are totally sincere in their beliefs.

As far as the charge of "totally humorless", well YEAH !
I can't defend "that". {:^)

JK how quick you forget ACORN and thier political involvement of voter fraud, multipul voting encouragement and the like. Or the Black Panthers guarding the voting polls and using intimidation tactics. Or Obama's knee jerk reaction to the police vrs the college professor, or how Travon Martin reminds him of his son if he had one. As one said, its not color, its behavior. You lib's have a short memory and an empty mind.

Republicans used to talk about how bad the economy is and how much worse it is going to get. Now, with shrinking unemployment, a soaring stock market, housing prices recovering and the housing industry recovering, corporate profits at an all time high, we hear nothing about that. Instead we hear about manufactured and groundless "scandals" involving what do we label an attack on our embassy outpost,. If a Tea Party organization should be allowed to have a non -profit status based on the fact they claim to not promote a political agenda(ha) and why the intelligence community should be able to utilize the provisions of the Bush patriot act to protect us from terrorist attacks.
Yep, they don't want to talk about the economy anymore because their predictions have been disproven, once again. And when all the dust settles, we'll be saying the same thing about these"scandals" But the republicans will have speculation and projections of doom on some new "big deal".
It's all part and parcel of their policy to obstruct.
