Letter: If you're pro-Obama, you must be anti-God

EDITOR:

The result of the recent presidential election is evidence that our country has embraced an anti-God agenda. Sanctity of life, sanctity of marriage and the moral that sexual relations be confined to marriage are going the way of black-and-white TV.

In pursuit of a rainbow of personal freedoms that violate God's ordinances, the winning party is America's answer for validation and enablement in the quest of "whatever" lifestyles ... whatever feels good, whatever benefits me, whatever I want. Demolishing the bedrock of biblical principles on which many citizens' lives rest, our hostile-to-God society has created a warm and welcoming climate for the inclusion of a wide array of delusions.

This culture's penchant for modern ideas, man-centered trends, and humanistic philosophies is not new and hearkens back to the kingdom of Nimrod's defiance of God's will in building the tower of Babel, (Genesis 10-11), and the initial fall of man through Adam's lust and pride-derived disobedience (Genesis 3). So, in reality, this country is not going "Forward," as the campaign slogan touted, but rather backward in history, following ancient indiscretions against God and inviting the same impending judgment.

Not sparing the people of Judah for their betrayal, God said, "When a country sins against Me by committing unfaithfulness ... I stretch out My hand against it," (Ezekiel 14:13). God has always fiercely opposed and judged His creation's rebellion against Himself and His law. All cities and nations of individuals who have forsaken the Creator have ultimately suffered severe and eternal consequences.

One comes to the realization that a holy God cannot tolerate sin after reading the accounts of God's wrath on the disobedient and idolatrous, as recorded in the Bible. In conclusion, "The Lord is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you" (2 Chronicles 15:2).

Mr. Sinking Ship's Quote: At least her (Ms. Holly's) faith doesn't instruct her to kill you because you disagree or mock her as Radical Islam does….They kill gays, women, and just about anyone who disagrees with their theology. UnQuote. A Contrario Mr. Sinking Ship's statement is dead wrong. Here is what Ms. Holly's and Mr. Ship's “Loving” Christian Bible states quite clearly... "If there be found among you...[a] man or woman...[who] hath gone and served other gods and worshipped them...then shalt though bring forth that man or that woman...and shalt stone them with stones, till they die." Deuteronomy 17:2-5. Why so many current religious persons still think these crazy ideas are valid is beyond the scope of my critically thinking mind.

It's curious that Holly's beliefs have caused such a lib freakshow! Hey, she has a right to believe as she wishes. At least her faith doesn't instruct her to kill you because you disagree or mock her as Radical Islam does. Yet, I hear little from libs about that fact. When they become more powerful, as Obama seems inclined to support, watch out. They kill gays, women, and just about anyone who disagrees with their theology.

Obama won with very little over half the votes. Likewise, a Republican Congress was voted in as well. Obviously, many of those voters wanted a balance in government.

Personally, I think Republicans should simply give Obama everything he wants and let the public see who he really is before the 2014 elections. They will be blamed for anything that happens if they have a hand in it, so they should back off and let Obama have whatever he wants. Including his preposterous proposal of a blank check for deficit spending. (Through Geitner)

BTW, I'm an Independent disgusted with both parties.

Could it be, Holly that you have had a little too strict a diet of Rush and Glenn? These guys are profiting millions on your notions, please stop fueling their fires.

Holly, you're too busy espousing your anti-god society theme that you don't realize that Obama won both the electoral AND popular vote by one of the biggest margins in a long time. Holly, do yourself a favor: go get therapy. You're living in a brainwashed world based on fear.

"Not all who voted Republican were racist, but all racist who voted, voted Republican."
"that is not accurate. many who are Christians and support the Word of God and who voted Republican did so not as a 'racist' but because of what obama supports against the Bible."

You mean like the Ku Klux Klan Christians who support the word of god and voted for the Republican? I wonder why those Christians didn't vote for Obama?

and what does Obama "support" against the bible?

I believe in time we will see just what God has planned for Obama and his corrupt administration. Everything happens for a reason.

Why couldn't God just make Obama loose?

@ sinking ship - I don't watch that kind of TV. Do you? You make some darn good points, but I don't think the cause has anything to do with God. Also, I don't think that anybody knows who "gets in and who doesn't". Thus, I think religion is a corrupt broker between "god" and humanity. They really are not trying to find out what it is. Religion is corrupt and steals minds. Also, they take great pride in believing most anything and often have low self esteem and little ability to use their senses and thought (Ever consider that "God" gave us logic and senses for a reason?). The religions are the first ones at the mirror you speak of. imo

@Cursed Fig Tree you said at the end of your post .....@Bergman.....Not all who voted Republican were racist, but all racist who voted, voted Republican.

that is not accurate. many who are Christians and support the Word of God and who voted Republican did so not as a 'racist' but because of what obama supports against the Bible.
I dont care if someone is purple.... color has nothing to do with how I vote. I vote for values and morality over sin.
yes I am a republican but have voted democratic at times because I feel that was the better candidate who supported better values.

I notice a few Republicans here repudiating the sentiments of this letter and saying, for instance, "This is why moderate Republicans are leaving the party in droves." I have to wonder why they're not resolving to take the party back from this kind of extremism and make it their own again. What makes this so hard?

dCourier, I thought at first this was wrong to print. But actually now I think it might be useful. Shows the fringes of humanity and sanity. Although, she must be an anomaly right? Are there really that many delusional people that voted republican for this reason? I wish not. I know there are some (e.g Rick Santorum) but I think a lot just wished to replace Obama and that they would get lucky with Romney and get the version that had some brains (not the primary version of him appealing the the Holly rollers of the Party.)

@Chris Bergman - that is actually a very good point you make. Maybe it can be heard without automatic rejection just because it is from you.

Hey, the bible says owe no man nothing, but to love them. I didnt vote for obama, but he is my president. So I will support him in prayer, and love. Why do you crazy people believe in God, if your god is so mean, its the same mentallity as those that attacked us on 911.

The Kingdom of Heaven is before our eyes, but why do we refuse to see it, Holly?

Holly, give up all you own to the poor and you too will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen?

(Or do you only want others to follow the teachings of the one you claim to worship?)

Lecia:

So who is the Sadducee and who is the Pharisee. Between you and Holly which one are you? You folks are so stuck in the religion of exclusion that when Jesus does come again you are going to miss it. Just like before. Truth hurts doesn't it. You are no different than the jews of the old testament. Trying to think you are better than everyone else. Trying to be more right than everyone else. Not the point!!! Maybe you can share the church that you attend so that we can avoid it!

Have fun with your arrogance.

I thought you go to Hell, if you voted Republican!

It's somewhere in the Bible, or was it Nixon, Reagan and Bush who were the pale riders of the Apocalypse, and who brought god's wrath down upon the non-believers, welfare queens, over-educated Urban folk, Unions and all who were not "whitened" as god's plan for his chosen people.

@Bergman
Not all who voted Republican were racist, but all racist who voted, voted Republican.

Holly, the contents of your letter are the very reason why moderate conservatives are leaving the GOP in droves. Believe what you want to believe, but, don't preach to others in a newspaper and combine religion and politics.
Try and lighten up and enjoy those rainbows.

Regarding being pro Obama is same as being anti God. First of all the writers points about sanctity of life, and marriage and keeping sexual relations confined to marriage are religious beliefs. The US constitution guarantees the writer the right to these beliefs, but that same constitution prohibits the establishment of a state religion. Legislating these beliefs therefore would be a violation of the constitution. Rather than being anti god (I don't think the writer really knows what Obama's religious beliefs are) Obama is upholding the constitution as he has sworn to do.
