Letter: Reader disappointed in 'lame' response

I've been to Rep. Gosar's office twice and emailed him numerous times trying to get some answers. When I suspected he was going to vote against continuing the Violence Against Women Act because of recent additions, I asked what was the basis of his reasoning. I received no reply. I've made several requests regarding his stance on expanded background requests. I contend that neither Rep. Gosar nor Sen. Flake is doing his job. They represent everyone in Arizona, but they don't know what the majority of citizens want on any issue. The only survey I received from Rep. Gosar was lame. He stated that President Obama was delaying signing the national budget. (Like we don't all know the GOP machinations behind that.) Then the question asked, (paraphrased) "Do you think President Obama is delaying signing the budget?" It's embarrassing he thinks we're so ignorant. Quit hiding, Rep. Gosar, and face your constituents.

Article comment by: Si!Se! me Puede @ Gosar and Flake are great representatives

I have contacted all our State's DC representatives over a couple issues, even a suggestion on gun rights, and they all responded promptly, especially courteously prompt was Congressman Gosar.

When I read your lefty's scree I notice you have loud concerns over all the same crybaby issues, couched in terms that are at once oblique and opaque, but nonetheless sinister.

Like when a school administrator says clothing is "inappropriate" I know this equals a T-Shirt with the US Flag or a phrase from the US Constitution on it. When I see "inappropriate" attached to religious displays I know right off that means anything Christian, or having to do with the bible.

Thus, when I see terms like "women's health care" I know what is meant is abortion. When I read "voter suppression" I realize this is a socialist referring to restrictions on felons, illegals, and people too stupid to figure out how to get an ID being allowed to vote.

If I see "Workers Rights" I instinctively know that violence prone socialistic organizations are being praised, and liberals demands for membership in them mandatory, as opposed to a person simply having the right to work without being forced to join a labor union.

Just like the term 'Affordable Care Act' is now being out maneuvered by liberals and Democrats from Barry the O all the way down to janitors in the Supreme Court building, willfully trying to get out of ObamaCare laws they dumped on the rest of us.

Thus I can't help but wonder if the term "Single Payer Health Care" or "Government Managed Medicine" does not really mean 'Death Panel' just as "Womens Health Issues" translates to dead babies.

It's an Obama world.

Stupid ignorant, dumb and childish. Tough to teach our children not to categorize people and make assumptions about others with drivel like that from adults.

Can we expect a higher level of dialogue??? Please!!!!!

Our leaders in Arizona all belong to ALEC. That's where those crazy bills come from. ALEC's agenda includes voter suppression, privatization of schools, prisons, and post offices, and taking away worker's power by making it very difficult for unions. Debbie Lesko, the nutty legislator who wanted to prevent women from having even birth control, and heaven forbid anyone have an abortion, is a charter member, along with Paul Gosar and Jeff Flake. They receive many perks for voting the way they are told. ALEC has plans of taking over state by state until they own it all.

Just some food for thought…..

If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Democrats demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he is offended.

2Give me a break - Gosar is public figure and a REPRESENTATIVE for the voters in his district.
I suggest you read up on US Representatives and their duties. He should be open to anyone's complaint regardless of their political persuasions. There is nothing in our constitution that states one party has more power than the other. Partisan politics are one thing that slows down good governments and makes for bad governing. Our two party system is not working. We need more choices.

Don't forget the "responses" from Fast & Furious and Benghazi. Just more political cover-up. Politicians forget that they are elected and paid by the citizens of this country. That goes for the president too.

Lessons learned here.
If you asked a question they cannot answer without benefiting them or the lobbyists they really represent they will not answer.
Been there and done that.

Gail: Your staggering political partisanship is showing. The only real question for you was what exactly would you complain about, right?
In my opinion, Mr. Gosar should ignore people simply looking for excuses to make complaints based on politics. We pay him to use his time more productively.
PS: Remember Kirkpatrick literally running for the town hall to avoid tough questions? Let me guess, you had no problem with that, right?
Anne has the "correct" politics.

Gail, our representatives no longer answer to their constituants. They answer to the money that puts them in office - big corporations, ALEC, millionaires, the Goldwater Institute. Long gone are the days when we actually had representation from legislators and especially from congress.

Why doesn't whiney Gail just move to Ann Kirkpatrick's district.

Oh, that's right--Kirkpatrick doesn't answer any of her constituents. She reports to the DNC.

My experience is that DR Gosar makes himself available to constituents about 14 hours a day when he is home.

If your representatives actually believed that American voters actually paid attention to what their employees were doing, they'd be more responsive. Good luck with that.

Add Jeff Flake's response to public outcry on his votes against expanded background checks, and it's clear Republicans representing AZ in Congress have little or no interest in their constituents. Flakes response, after caving to NRA threats -- "That's the beauty of a six year term."

Oh hail Obama. It's mind boggling how so many of you watch this man rip the American flag in half. What else would you expect from displaced Californians.

What a shame.

Article comment by: Neither Gosar or Flake care anything about you or the residents of AZ.

Or about your health care. Or about women's rights. Or about the future of beautiful Arizona. They are both lobbyists for the mining industry. And we elected both. Shame on us.

Gail, you silly!

You must first donate $10,000 or more to their next "campaign", and they will do backflips for you.

Otherwise you are a common bumpkin and not worth their time.

It is about them , wealth and power.

It's wild that people who love this guy say he's very accessible. Others say he's not, especially when they're challenging him. Hopefully he's reading this and will find some way to respond to your needs. I can't attest to his character. Be persistent and let us know how it went.
