Letter: Stand up and fight for nation's liberty


During the Fourth of July, celebration time should be set aside for refection upon that which was proclaimed by our forefathers: "That all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Liberty is this nation's structure. The Constitution and Bill of Rights were designed to limit government and give American citizens freedom from government intrusion into our lives - freedom from "arbitrary control."

But we, as citizens, have given up defending our liberty. Haven't we allowed, through electoral process, politicians to take away our liberty and invade our lives?

Our liberty has been under attack and an even greater threat to our liberty since the election of Barack Obama. Controlled healthcare, development of our natural gas reserves, abducting our emails, giving audience to our conversations and what type of light bulbs to use in our homes are examples.

America must stand united as a community on behalf of protecting our liberty. The claws of government are at our throats and we can no longer be sedated American citizens.

Still you did not answer a single question, putrid or otherwise. Nothing but deflection and spin while hoping no one notices the truth and vacuous nature of your well, uh, argument I guess is what YOU would call it.

Although all lefty's are really offering is smoky disdain for facts, pointing fingers at others, and eternal deceptiveness offered as a talking point while complaining about FOX News. Typical liberal.

But, let me ask you something (I am sure you won't answer), when the Obamunists get their way, and people such as yourself 'win' then what? I mean the USA will become a land of dependence and debt, Christian values that have sustained our culture for centuries will be driven underground, Islamist demands and tribalism will stand supreme above law and freedom, while xenophobic masses, addicted to government support, perpetually paying homage to the political chattering class, which is where their EBT gets re-charged, will run free and undisciplined. No hope. No dreams. Nothing except living as a conquered peoples in a land of PC and violence.

All thanks to individuals with only self-serving mores who revel in an ethos of nothing, while discarding their heritage of honor in return for Obamacare. Persons such as yourself.

What then?

BTW: After using the word "Jew" you derisively sneered the line "...Master's thesis level?"

Let me explain. Yes, see the deal is that at higher education levels students desiring things like PhD's and Master's Degrees will often be called upon to provide a dissertation or theses to support their work and contribution to academia, or even research showing the candidates' graduate school level of creativity and originality.

This work is sometimes called a 'Blue Book' which is a manual containing reference sources, experiments, and studies performed by the candidate. As the 'Blue Book' once prepared is open to public inspection (not Barack Obama's for some reason), the notes that support this manual must be prepared in a specifically organized manner.

What I am in the process of doing is reviewing these notes for some of my students to ensure acceptability of form and content, prior to their being submitted.

You likely have not seen such a thing during your focused studies in high school or matriculation at junior college level.

Keep pluggin' away though...those '101' classes can be tough.

Having re-read the letter, I'm still not getting the humor, as I believe that Maryanne is not in jest. Particularity the last two paragraphs. The issue is not fact, as it is an opinion. However, "air escaping from your mouth", lays bare process by which you are asked to accept that opinion.

I will look at "Government Violates Amendments."

As to Fox, a consumer of news such as yourself would recognize the inconsistency with the other sources, the editorial outrage and and take no responsibility to correct their errors and recognize when the facts are omitted, colored by editorial bias, and when they are outright lies.

Perhaps your "illuminating question previously proffered questions" were rhetorical or directed to others, or the odor of comment was to putrid to respond.

@ "I Like the Change." I don't believe nor do I know of anyone who limits themselves to viewing one news channel. For myself, I watch them all throughout the course of the day and evening and I know many of my friends do as well. We also subscribe to two / three out of state newspapers.
Therefore, it appears you are projecting your own issues onto others.
Perhaps you may like to read the comment by: "Government Violates Amendments." I personally found it difficult to disagree with it . . hard as I tried.
As for the educational aspect of your post. I, for one, have a PHd., in Industrial Psychology. I am also aware that many who post here are highly educated as well as the author of this letter.
I am certain this new revelation will disappoint you though your argument against it will shortly be posted.
I discovered no lies in Marianne's LTE and I did find a twist of humor (light bulbs) which is what I expect from her as I am well acquainted with her blogs and LTE over the years.
What's interesting, and rather amusing, is how often she succeeds in ruffling up feathers from her readers who haven't as yet caught on to her prompting of those ruffles. If you get my drift. One strong point in a good letter writer.
Soon we'll be celebrating our country's 'freedom' - or will we?

You know, I could say much about your off the wall and attempts to be personally insulting posts, but I will not.

I will, however, point out that your getting most of your information and news commentary from make-believe comedy shows on basic cable, says much more about your position and philosophy than I -or anyone- ever could.

BTW: Your favorite 5'6" basic cable news-comedy show host, John Stewart, is really named Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, he is a Jewish person. Mr. ‘Stewart’ also has many nicknames…Lefty, Soupy, Poochy, Susceptible Boy, Stew Beef…well, you get the idea.

Most famously Mr. Stewart recently raised a hoot while performing an ever-so-hilarious skit on official Egyptian television, they must have basic cable as well, I guess. Anyway, in this laugh fest, Mr. Stewart appeared on camera wearing a black hood and proceeded to make fun of all the people who have recently gone missing, courtesy of the Muslim Brotherhood, since your hero Obama helped install Morsi as the head of Egypt's government.

Funnier still? Right outside the studio, just a few yards way, legitimate Egyptian citizens were being brutalized, kidnapped, and shot by Jihadic military forces, shouting allah-ah-Akbar, who are loyal to Morsi. The host of the show, Bassem Youseff, had himself been arrested and brutally interrogated in the past for disrespecting Islam.

I know of this outrage because FOX News did a piece on it to show the callous disregard people like Stewart and yourself have for other people. However, since I am sure you are more relaxed on YouTube, the video of this festival of fun is available there as well.

Next time we can discuss elements of that great orator Bill Maher, whom I am sure is your next favorite 'news' provider.

BTW...I notice you responded to not a single illuminating question previously proffered . Perhaps they were too intimidating and revealing of your true philosophy of fallaciousness, superficial knowledge of nada, and believing in nothing. Like a job, or god, your country, or common sense.

You don't have to watch FOX, the late nite comedians do the work and show the clips from the daily BS. Hypocrisy dissected makes for great comedy. Fox is not the sole target, as the all news said stupid is fair game for dissection. It's just that FOX is so over the top with the extremist trash talk, that the name of FOX has become a running joke.

As to sock puppets, check out "air escaping from your mouth" comments. I think dispatched the matter with the class, lacking by those taken in by very well known propaganda techniques.

Without the tools, most of the regular Fox viewers, probably don't understand why they find themselves outraged and in agreement with ideas opposed their core values.

It also marks the true believers, as lacking the tools to sort the BS due to their limited educations. HS does not teach critical thinking in any meaningful way, which would be your immunity to these techniques. Yet, most can sort the BS in product advertizement.

The fact that there is a cable news show on TV seduces the belief in its integrity. While you can't lie about the products you advertize, the 1st Amendment protects the lies about the political products they sell.

Do you really believe the extremist trash talk? The question sums up the issue and the problem.

You forgot the 2nd Amendment, reading your post is why it's necessary. Although not eliminated entirely, they're working on it, and in some states CA, CT, IL, MA, NJ, NY, RI, etc. it has been effectively neutered.

The 'change' you like is destroying our culture and nation right in front of our eyes at an unbelievable rate courtesy of a narcissistic president, a toxic legislative cabal, and a clueless electorate.

You and your ilk, along with sockpuppets various, are not telling the truth. Pretending to be all reasonable and just going about your business rolling your eyes at those who are irrational and listen to FOX News.

But, that is not what you are doing. Instead you are infiltrating schools with socialist nonsense, while pretending the nation's crushing debt makes no difference. Killing the unborn. Rioting for the rights of ignorant and illiterate people from other countries to come to the USA and be on welfare. Supporting Islamification of the country. Railing against Israel. Demonstrating in the streets for re-distribution of wealth from the productive to the non-productive...YOU! Demanding to be 'safe' by making sure no one else can defend themselves. Struggling to keep millions dependent so you feel better about yourself. Lying and twisting and acting out to make sure nothing is ever settled, confusion reigns, and chaos rules.

As your royal president takes yet another Vay-Kay, this one a $100 million family trip to Africa, the rest of us are left at home to argue about what is being presented on FOX News vs. MSNBC, while Rachel Maddow crows about her authority to be a lesbian one can only wonder what part of this change you like?

Mostly, why do you like it? Why embrace the darkness? Why are you more protective of people you will never meet than of your neighbors? Why the hate for a society that sustains and enables your every whim? In one generation, one!, we have thrown away our birthright to be free and independent, while putting our arms around every possible perversion and self-defeating notion of common sense.

Perhaps you should watch FOX sometimes, who knows you might learn something....nah!

Terrific comment, and I agree. The President has done a great job getting us back on track. Imagine where we'd be if the pains-in-the-rear in the House had been on board all this time.

And you are right that because the Tea Bag rules over the vast majority of sentiments to be found in the Courier's comments section, don't mistake that for a legitimate majority. Further, many of the loudest critics of the President and his efforts write under 2, 3, 4 or more nomes de plume...what you're reading here is an even smaller actual pool of people making most of the noise.

Oh sure, Arizona is still majority Red...the polls show us that. But give it time....give it time.

A person would have to be living under a rock not to see our American freedoms going down the drain since obama took office.
For one instance, our religious freedoms have been taken away.
My son's classroom no longer has an American flag displayed in his classroom. I addressed this to the board and they told me it has become school policy so they don't discriminate.
Government controlled healthcare.
Mr. obama's sequester took away all my daughters military active duty tuition assistance. My daughter "stood up, joined the service, sacrificed life & limb for our nations liberty, only to get her liberties taken away by this "president"!!!!
The list of lost liberties is endless with this train wreck. All the gay states voted for obama, and they got their change this week.
They can marry each other, and live free because of courageous military men and women whom made them free to find their "change".
Mr. obama is like a school teacher that uses a "curve" grading system. He pulls down the people whom carry the class, and helps the under achievers keep under achieving!
This mentality forces the hard workers to pull back, and the under achievers to give up working all together. The same is applying in this economy just look at the unions. This "president" is putting America on it's knees!!

I like the change, just not fast enough. Now if we could get the corporate money out of elections, we could get rid of rented obstructionist in Congress.

Otherwise, everything is healing nicely.

But after a while, you would think people would see the realty , rather than listen to continual fabrications and character assignation on Fox and the like. And repeated often enough, people believe the trash.

Your assumptions are not as commonly accepted as you think. Most of us don't respond to the folks here, who wear their politics on their sleeve. I prefer not to argue with my fist, so as most, I pass rather than attempt to discuss politics with the irrational types.

The downside is, it does not give the proper social feedback and is taken as agreement, rather than, wow ! Do you really believe that extremist trash?

1st Amendment - governments violation ... arresting those speaking out and violating /crushing peaceful assemblies.
4th Amendment - governments violation ... flying drones over the American Homeland.
5th Amendment - governments violation ... subjecting us to indefinite detentions and taking away our due process rights.
8t Amendment - government's violation ... indefinite detention and assassination.
9th Amendment - government's violation ... interfering with our aspirations for economic freedom, safe food and water (instead of arsenic-laden, genetically engineered junk). Freedom from undue health hazard such as irradiation due to government's support of archaic nuclear power designs, and a level playing field (as opposed to our crony capitalist system in which the little guy has no shot due to redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the super-elite, and government support of white collar crimes. To name a few.

You letter Marianne will soon slip off this page but before it does I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your insights and concerns for our countries direction, your fellow human beings and, of course, your spiritual/christian inspiration.
My wife, teen daughters as well as myself gain insights into yours and is used as teaching tools to further broaden our horizons.
My children have often brought the issue of the United States slipping away from its known liberties to the dinner table's conversation and your letter re-enforced those interests. We live in troubling times and are deeply concerned for our children's future welfare.
However, we have made Jesus our Lord and trust in His Freedom and protection and pray for Him to remove any/all doubts and worries.
