11/22/2012 9:53:00 PM Letter: CCJ appreciates community support
The Coalition for Compassion and Justice is so grateful for a supportive community that shares our mission. Thank you to the staff at The Daily Courier for your recent stories and editorial recognizing the work our staff and volunteers do every day to eliminate poverty and lead people toward self-sufficiency.
Specifically, we thank reporter Cindy Barks for her thoughtful look at the Circles of Support program, a collaboration with Catholic Charities to mentor people out of poverty, and the Courier's editorial that provided a comprehensive look at the services CCJ offers. Finally, thank you for letting the community know about Operation Deep Freeze, our emergency shelter that keeps individuals from staying outside on the coldest nights of the year.
We are appreciative that our community understands that individuals struggle with financial, housing and other challenges, but many work hard to overcome those situations. Over 11 years, we've seen countless people receive a little assistance and leave behind a difficult time in their lives. Thanks again for supporting a fair and just community for all. Anyone who would like to volunteer or find out more at CCJ can call us at 445-8382.
