PRESCOTT - In the fall of 2007 when Bobbi Yoder took an assistant girls basketball coaching position at Prescott High School, or rather was talked into it by Missy Townsend, a first-year coach herself at the time, she never imagined it would go far.

Now eight years later, Yoder is the woman in charge of a program that has as much potential as the coach is willing to put into it.

After years of struggle, Chino Valley boys basketball sees hope on near horizon
CHINO VALLEY - Mike Fogel sensed that his Chino Valley boys basketball team wasn't performing as sharp as it had been in previous preseason practices during an afternoon session at the main gym Nov. 12.

But rather than rant and rave at the 15 players who showed up in their blue, white and orange practice jerseys that day, he used the lull as a teachable moment.

It was a wise move for Fogel, a veteran coach who's back for his second full season as Cougars' lead mentor in 2015-16. Chino opens the current campaign at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Bagdad.
