Despite a phenomenal season that has included a total team record of 39-3, and despite besting the four-way field Thursday at Prescott Golf and Country Club in Dewey, the Badgers missed their shot at qualifying for the state tournament.

Even with two regular-season matches remaining, Prescott can't catch the qualifying total.

"I'm still proud of how they played," PHS head coach Travis Andrist said. "Our overall record after today is 39-3, which is the best record from the Badgers in the last seven years of my coaching career."

Drake Parker was the medalist Thursday, shooting his lowest score of the season with an even par 36. The card also featured Blair Walsh (39), Donald Bates (42), Christian Fernandez (44) and Brandon Eastman (45).

Prescott faces stiff competition next Thursday when Boulder Creek and Sunrise Mountain visit Antelope Hills in Prescott.

The Badgers closed out their regular season Thursday with a loss in the PHS dome.

The team's lone win came when Shandiin Lake and Sierra Rosdahl won their doubles match in three games.

Prescott will take its girls to the state tournament starting Oct. 12. The team will lose two seniors after this season, Lake and Kylie Gonzales.
