Two quick goals in the third period for the Arizona Sundogs made it a thrilling finish but an empty-net goal in the final seconds sealed a 4-2 win for the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at Tim's Toyota Center on the final night of 2011 in Prescott Valley.

Daymen Rycroft scored the first of Arizona's (9-16-5) third period goals for the 200th of his career on a slap shot from the top of the left circle at 9:37. JP Chabot added the other two minutes later for his 11th of the season.

The Bees (13-12-4) opened up a 3-0 lead with a pair of late goals in the second period. Scott Balan finished a 2-on-1 rush with 3:09 to play and Aaron Lee scored on a breakaway just a minute later for his 15th of the season.

Brandon Campos opened up the scoring in the final minute of the first period with a power play goal for the Bees at the front of the net.

Tomas Klempa added the empty-netter for the Bees.

Mike Spillane made his Sundogs debut in net with 29 saves in the loss. Wylie Rogers earned his second straight win over the Sundogs with 29 saves as well.

The Bees went 1-for-5 on the power play while Arizona was 0-for-5.

The Sundogs and Killer Bees close out their three-game set on Tuesday. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Ownership...Do you EVER plan on fixing this problem and getting a new coach behind the bench? His track record has proven what he is capable of. I'm just thankful Eric Lacroix was here for 2 seasons to gives us a couple good years of hockey...
