4/13/2013 10:00:00 PM Obituary: Wayne Marshal Hultberg
Wayne, born in Evanston, Ill., the only child of Bert and Agnes Hultberg, passed away April 5, 2013.
He attended Evanston public schools. He graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin. After completing his military obligation in the army, he entered the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Ill., to prepare for a career as a package designer/engineer.
Wayne worked for several large medical companies designing sterile packaging for their product lines and also designed new products for the healthcare industry.
His professional career also led him to be principal of Hultberg and Associates/Vicor, a design and development consulting firm specializing in medical device packaging.
He and his wife Marjorie moved to Prescott for retirement. Wayne always wanted to keep busy. He had many interest: playing tennis, photography, traveling and hiking. His interests also included Civil War history and his family's genealogy.
Wayne volunteered in building hiking trails with the Over the Hill Gang. He served as treasurer of PAWUIC (Prescott Area Wildland Urban Interface Commission) for several years. He was the chairman of the Forest Trails Community Firewise team. He was honored to be on the vestry of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Wayne cherished his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie (Sturlini) Hultberg; their two children, Lisa (Marc) Gilliam and Kurt (Debbie) Hultberg; four grandchildren, Steven and Megan Gilliam and Jake and Hailey Hultberg; brother-in-law Philip Sturlini; and many cousins and their families in Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. A reception will follow the service in the Gathering Hall of the church.
