H. Eugene "Gene" Rogers, 83, passed away Feb. 15, 2013, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born on Dec. 25, 1929, in Springfield, Ill.
Gene served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Afterward, he became a chicken rancher in California. Gene loved the outdoors, camping and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Gene is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene; sons Jim Rogers of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Keith Rogers of Carlsbad, Calif.; daughters Jacie Cohen of San Jose, Calif., and Jill DuBord of Cottonwood, Ariz.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a brother, Jack Rogers of LaVerne, Calif.
A celebration of Gene's life will be 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Prescott National Cemetery.
