70th Anniversary: Mack L. Rowe and N. Lora (Fisher) Rowe

Mack L. Rowe and N. Lora (Fisher) Rowe were married March 14, 1943, on Marina Street in Prescott, Ariz. In celebration, there was a family dinner at Red Lobster on March 14, followed by a May 18 picnic at Granite Basin Lake, their favorite site for family get-togethers in the 1940s and 1950s.

Both Mack and Lora came to Prescott as children, Mack from Kansas as a result of the 1930s dust bowl and Lora from West Virginia for the health of her father. Both attended Prescott schools. Shortly after their marriage, Mack was drafted and sent to Europe. Lora worked in the Old Mill on Gurley Street. When the war ended they bought a small cabin on Mile High Dr. and began fixing it up. Over the years Mack mined at the Iron King, ran the Mobil Station in the Y at Miller Valley, worked for various local car dealerships and at various businesses as a repairman. Lora retired from the Prescott office of Economic Security (unemployment side) after 28 years.

Mack and Lora have one daughter, Kathy and husband Dave West of Chino Valley, Ariz., two granddaughters, Michele (Carey) Blackwell of Peoria, Ariz., and Melissa O'Neil of Chino Valley. Mack and Lora are extremely proud of their great-grandchildren Sarah, T.J. and Lily. In turn the kids adore their great-grandparents who lavish them with Grammies' deviled eggs and Poppies' gifts from the workshop.
