Prescott Opry is Thursday night

Prescott Opry promises a "toe tappin', foot stompin' good time" when it opens its 2013 season Thursday evening at the Elks Opera House.

Headliners taking the stage will be Andy Gallegos, Don Hesson, Nancy Drake, Nolan Sturdevant, Robbie Heintzman and the Brush Arbor Revival.

Gallegos performs Latino-stylized renditions of George Straight and Randy Travis.

Don Hesson, a country and western singer from Anchorage, Alaska, whose melodies match Tom T. Hall and Hank Williams, is a newcomer to Prescott Opry productions. Heintzman will entertain in her gospel and secular style, and comedian Drake will remind the audience of Minnie Pearl with her old-fashioned family-friendly humor.

Alan Jackson will come to mind when featured youth artist Sturdevant performs, and Brush Arbor will bring the ensemble's traditional instrumental and inspirational vocal harmony to the show.

The Prescott Opry evening of music begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15, with student and group discounts available. For tickets, call the opera house box office from 10 a.m. too 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at 777-1370 or log onto www.elksoperahouse.com.
