12/28/2012 9:50:00 PM Prescott POPS to play music from 1930s - '70s on New Year's Eve at Elks Opera House
Tickets are still available for the "Dancing Through Decades" New Year's Eve party from 8 p.m. to midnight on Monday at the Elks Opera House.
Door sales will be available at the opera house box office at 5 p.m. Monday. Ticket prices range from $30 to $50.
Highlights of the evening include the big band sound of the Prescott Pops Dance Band, a 16-piece band featuring members of the Prescott POPS Symphony, directed by Max Borjon. The band will perform favorite songs from five decades, the 1930s through the 1970s, concluding with the traditional "Auld Lang Syne" at midnight.
During warm-up and band breaks, the Tumbledown House duo, featuring vocalist Gillian Howe and eclectic indie-jazz guitarist Tyler Miller, will entertain guests.
For those who would like to dine before the Elks Opera House event, the Hassayampa Inn, which is directly across from the opera house, is offering a buffet in its Marina Room.

During intermission at approximately 10 p.m., a painting of the Grand Canyon by Chino Valley and southwest artist Bonnie Casey will go on the auction block for the benefit of the Elks Opera House Foundation.
