3/26/2014 6:01:00 AM Prescott Valley Raceway hosts test-and-tune Saturday with new season coming next weekend

Prescott Valley Raceway, 10501 Highway 89A, will host a test-and-tune racecar practice from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday to prepare for the dirt track's 2014 season opener at 1 p.m. April 5.
PVR spokesman Brian Hussey said that the test-and-tune is free and open to the public, although cars must still pay pit fees.
In addition, at 5 p.m. Saturday at the adjacent Yavapai Downs, AZ Flat-Track is sponsoring another "Dirt Track Shootout!" featuring Indoor Dirt Track Motorcycle Races in the Expo Center (formerly Coors Event Center). A practice will run beforehand, from 7-10:30 p.m. Friday.
Along with the motorcycles, quarter-midget sprint cars and go-karts will race on the Expo Center's one-tenth-of-a-mile dirt track.
Motorcycle, quarter-midget and go-kart racing will resume at 11 a.m. Sunday.
General admission for fans costs $10 per person.
As for the PVR's 2014 season, the track's second race is scheduled for 1 p.m. April 12 before night racing begins on the ensuing Saturdays.
