Indoor Dirt Track Motorcycle Races made their debut appearance in Prescott Valley Saturday night when AZ Flat-Track brought the thunder to the former Yavapai Downs site on Highway 89A.

The former Coors Event Center was transformed into a one-tenth-of-a-mile dirt track. Classes of motorcycles competing this weekend include Youth Mini-Bikes; Youth Quads; Amateur Quads; Pro Quads; Mad-dog; Vintage 250, 500 and 750; Open Amateur/DTX Singles; Open Pro; and Open MX Knobby.

Racing continues Sunday. Sign-in begins at 9 a.m., with practice at 11 a.m. and racing at noon.

Admission for this open-to-the-public event is $10 per person for those ages 9 and up, and free for those ages 8 and under.

1/10 mile? Good grief, put the bikes on the car track on a weekly basis and you'll develop a regular following. Added benefit- it would actually make for some good racing. You could also try some speedway bikes. The AMA National Mile a few years back at the horse track was a blast!
