Camp Verde's Little League Juniors All-Star team defeated Prescott 12-2 in six innings Saturday at Mayer High School to win District 10 and advance to the state tournament later this month.

The double-elimination Juniors State Tournament for 13- and 14-year-olds starts July 16 in Sierra Vista and showcases the champions of Arizona's 14 different districts.

State champions move on to the regional round with the chance to advance to the Juniors World Series.

Meanwhile, in the District 10 Little League Majors Tournament (ages 11 and 12) at Chino Valley's L.L. fields on Saturday, Williams eliminated Dewey-Humboldt 8-2 in the loser's bracket and Prescott Valley beat Chino Valley 19-5 to advance to Sunday's winner's bracket semifinals.

Chino Valley L.L. will host four games Sunday, including Prescott Valley vs. Verde Valley and Wickenburg vs. Bagdad in the winner's bracket semifinals at 8 p.m.

Also on tap in the loser's bracket are Chino Valley vs. Prescott and Williams vs. Camp Verde at 5:30 p.m. The losers of both contests will be eliminated from state tournament contention.

The Majors tournament continues through the end of this week in Chino Valley.
