Montezuma Federals to unveil mascot Wednesday
Special to The Courier

The Montezuma Federals pro baseball team, after more than six months narrowing the entries in their mascot contest, have selected a winning entry - from Brianna Smith of Prescott Valley.

Will the new mascot be a mythical creature, an animal or even royalty? The Federals and their mascot sponsor, The Fireside Grill in Prescott Valley, will announce the new mascot between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the Fireside Grill.

Smith will receive a cash prize, Federals merchandise and recognition at a game during opening weekend.

The Federals season is slated to start at 4 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Roughrider Field on Yavapai College's Prescott campus.

The mascot, players and the new coaching staff also will be at Tailgaters on Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. signing autographs where game tickets also will be available.

For tickets and game schedules, call 710-7685 or email federals2013@yahoo.com.
