Bradshaw girls' basketball team pushes win streak to 17
The Daily Courier

Coming off a weeklong break after claiming the Big "O" Winter Classic championship Dec. 29 at Prescott High, the Bradshaw Mountain girls' basketball team picked up two victories in as many nights on Tuesday to extend its winning streak to 17.

Angie Banks and Dacie Clark scored 11 points apiece, Ashlie Dowdy knocked in six points, and Jessica Olivas and Kylie Morris had five points each as the Bears beat Camp Verde, 41-26, at home.

Bradshaw's record improved to 17-1 overall, with its only loss being in the 2012-13 season opener against Tucson Catalina Foothills in late November.

On Tuesday, the Bears led only 18-15 at halftime and 26-23 at the end of the third period before breaking open the game in the fourth. Behind its full-court pressure defense, Bradshaw outscored Camp Verde 15-3 in the final quarter to extend its lengthy winning stretch.

On Monday, the Bears came from behind to defeat Sedona Red Rock, 58-47, on the road, as three BMHS players scored in double figures.

Banks paced Bradshaw with 16 points, while Morris netted 12 points and Clark poured in 11 points. Olivas and Dowdy added 8 points and 7 points, respectively.

The Bears trailed 24-21 at halftime but went on to outscore Red Rock 37-23 in the final 16 minutes to notch the victory.

Bradshaw returns to the hardwood at 7 p.m. Friday when it pays a visit to rival Prescott.
