It was all about the defense for the Bears Tuesday night on their home court in Prescott Valley.

The Bears fired a 7-0 shutout after one period, and limited the Cougars to just two points by halftime.

"Just really happy with my guys' defensive effort tonight," Bradshaw head coach Doug Beilfuss said. "It was phenomenal. Swarming the ball, communicating with each other. It was a pleasure to watch them play 'D'."

Junior DJ Gonzales led the effort with 10 points. Junior Trevor Judd added six. Chino Valley senior Cole Padilla led all scorers with 12 second-half points.

"We couldn't score in the first half. That was the name of the game," Chino coach Bill McKnight said.

The Bears' win came one night after Bradshaw more than doubled up Sedona Red Rock in a 64-31 win in Prescott Valley Monday night. Senior Lucas Herman led the balanced scoring with 11 points. Gonzales added nine.

Bradshaw is now 8-4 overall and 6-2 in power point games.

Both teams take some time off for the Christmas holiday.

Chino Valley is next in action Jan. 8 at home against Mayer to open a string of three straight home games.

The Bears, meanwhile, get set to open their annual Alvarez Tire Holiday Classic Dec. 26-28. They'll open with Mayer for a 10 a.m. tip the day after Christmas.
