PRESCOTT - A man was Tased and then arrested Tuesday night after police said he threatened to burn down a home and destroy a child's bicycle, and fought with officers.

David Eli Hutchinson, 32, was charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, threatening and intimidating per domestic violence, disorderly conduct per domestic violence, and resisting arrest, stated a police report.

On Tuesday at about 10 p.m., Prescott Police officers responded to an address on Oregon Street to investigate a domestic violence call, and the suspect's girlfriend, 31, told them that Hutchinson "threatened to burn down the house," the report said.

Earlier in the day, Hutchinson was looking for his girlfriend and allegedly told the woman's 8-year-old daughter that he would break her bicycle into pieces if she didn't tell him where her mother was located, according to the report. "The 8-year-old told the officers that she was scared because Mr. Hutchinson was always mad," Prescott Police spokesman Lt. Ken Morley said.

The woman told police that Hutchinson had been violent in the past and said he would not move out because, he told her, he had not been "properly evicted," according to Morley.

Police decided to arrest him at that point, but Hutchinson "fought with the officers and refused to obey their commands," Morley said, until one shocked him with a Taser.

One officer received minor scrapes from the scuffle and the other was not injured, Morley said.

Hutchinson was taken first to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment, then booked into the Camp Verde jail, where he's being held on a $7,000.

Funny how you all assume this has some rehab connection. One of you say one word and the rest of you run with it. and the others ALWAYS connect one situation with a prior incident like the Iron Brotherhood. Get over it, already.
This guys doesn't even have a dui or drug offense, check public record.
He not a good person and has been in and out of YCSO jail for over a decade, but don't make it what it isn't and knock something else without the facts. It has nothing to do with rehab. NEXT!

I am sorry again I smelled a rat. I forgot to bless you and your bitterness against me and rehab people who are trying to better their lives and get well. I know your going through some down time. I hope you feel better. I know they should have willpower. That is how people think who suffer from other issues. We will keep loving you until you love yourself, only we will love you the least.

@ Not always rehabs. Your response certainly supports what you say, "No ego here." I apparently made some erroneous assumptions about you when I responded to your initial comments. I don't know you, but based upon your response I expect that you can look in the mirror and like what you see.

Unless YOU want to be the one to have to fight these losers, I suggest you support the efforts of your police officers.

How long has it been since they've had a pay raise? Aren't their pensions still under attack by opportunistic politicians?

Thank you, I smell a rat for setting me straight. No ego here. Here is what really should have been said. God bless the child and all victims involved. Please help correct the man who caused this.

You guys are fighting over nothing that has anything to do with this post. This guy came here when he was a kid. he had nothing to do with the rehab programs till he got our of prison the last time around.

@ Not always rehabs, you say, " If you took a survey I am sure you would find that most of these people who cause these crimes have not been in rehab yet and are suffering in their addiction." Your contention is but an opinion. Show some hard facts and your credibility may rise above the tepid level. We all have opinions, but you make a brash statement of opinion as fact, followed by "Waiting waiting, yep here comes all the off the wall comments." It seems in your mind your opinions equal fact while those opinions of others equal only off-the-wall commentary. Talking about conceit I can imagine your politics and ideas about government control.

I know there has been a lot of comments in regards to rehab homes in the area. I was born and raised here and there has always been trouble like this in Prescott and most all towns. If you took a survey I am sure you would find that most of these people who cause these crimes have not been in rehab yet and are suffering in their addiction. I think the real blame should be on what it really is. People being unmanageable in their addiction. Waiting waiting, yep here comes all the off the wall comments.

Could not agree more with "More Residue"! Lets not forget the fact that there is no current law in "everybodys home town" for public intoxication as well! I have always found this perplexing to me considering all the fine watering holes around town! Maybe it's time voters step up and insist to local officials we will not tolerate such behavior anymore? How about a drunk tank as well intead of clogging up our emergency rooms with intoxicated garbage????

Daily...it's sickening.

Are these young people the residue of all the rehabbers that are sent to Prescott to stay and relapse?

City Council: Take action. Get rid of the rehab and probation halfway houses. The community is going to hell in a hand basket!

He seems like a nice enough tough Guy picking on 8 year old girls, do you suppose they will induct him in the Iron Brotherhood?

I'd bet he could arrest some school kids with Airsoft Toy Guns.
