5/2/2013 9:50:00 PM YBBBS Child of the Week: Audrey
Meet Audrey. She attends the seventh grade in Prescott. She is being raised by her father and lives with her two younger brothers in Prescott Valley.
Audrey is on the basketball team at school, is a cheerleader during football season, and enjoys gymnastics and singing in the school choir. She aspires to own her own house one day and would like to "improve her skills in everything."
Audrey wants a potential Big to know that she cooks all the time and that she likes to do a lot of different activities. Things she would like to do with a Big include riding bikes, going rock-climbing, collecting rocks, playing basketball, painting and drawing, and she would like to go target-shooting with a bow and arrow.
You don't have to change your life to change the life of a child like Audrey. Just a few hours a couple times a month is enough to make a difference as a Big Brother or Big Sister. You can also be a Big as a Couple Match or with your whole family as a Family Match. Research shows that kids matched with a "Big" are, on average, 40 percent less likely to get arrested, compared to all other kids their age.
