Two vehicles that collided Monday afternoon at the intersection of 2nd and 5th streets in Prescott Valley damaged power boxes, causes power outages to nearby businesses.

The Daily Courier

Central Yavapai firefighters treated one person for minor injuries and assessed four others after a truck and SUV collided at the intersection of 2nd and 5th streets in Prescott Valley Monday afternoon.

The momentum from the crash pushed both vehicles into power boxes located on the side of the road, said Battalion Chief Cougan Carothers.

The vehicles caused heavy damage to the electrical boxes, which led to power outages, according to Prescott Valley Police Sgt. Brandon Bonney.

"Intersection lights were out for a short time as was power to multiple businesses on the frontage (road)," Bonney said.

My significant other wants me to get a truck where we have to hoist her up into the seat with a block and tackle harness. Where can I get one? I mean Bigfoot!

They can have my truck when they pry my keys from my cold dead fingers...Electricity causes cancer anyway so it's a good thing it was out for awhile...

@What A Crock!!: The post from "its time to ban trucks" is sarcastic. He is making fun of those who think that "guns kill people". He is not saying that trucks kill people. He is making fun of the liberals who want to make strict gun control laws and take away the 2nd Amendment.

@ What A Crock
I think you need to relax. These posts were making light of recent events. This article is not even newsworthy, let alone worth getting your blood pressure up. If you cannot laugh at ths stupidity of everything on here, then life is not good.

Also I for one am not a tree hugging hippie. I prefer rainbows, kittens, and long walks on the beach.

I hate to say this, but this is to the ones whining about "Lets Ban Trucks", Yall need to just suck it up and forget about that, because it will NEVER HAPPEN!! You try to ban trucks and the city council in whatever town/city you decide to try, they will just laugh at you!! Its not just trucks that kill, its other vehicles as well.. Myself, own 2 trucks and a small car and I will not stop driving them!! I find that this post is probably started from a bunch of whiney tree hugging hippies and if so.. I find it funny!! Find something more worth while to gripe about, instead of bashing Prescott Valley and the local police departments, and more like the streets and highways in our area!! That's all I wanted to say about that!!

Nothing good comes from electrical boxes......ever

Let's ban electrical boxes along with anning trucks. The other poster is right, there whould be camera's at that intersection and pretty much all intersections in PV, they only work if they are not being dismissed by the corrupted police department.

This is the town of PV's fault 100%! There is a Yield sign on 5th St. & 2nd St. On the other side of the same intersection is a Stop sign where there is little to no traffic. Another "accident waiting to happen" is the intersection of 2nd St. & Prescott East Highway. And I have seen cars coming up 5th St. go straight through the Yield sign without stopping.

Trucks obviously have the potential to kill people. It's about time they were outlawed. Any "Anti-truck" advocates out there? AND.......if there had been cameras at that intersection................sigh!!!!
